By accessing or using the AIT Community Netherlands platform (the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Platform immediately. You must be at least 16 years of age to create an account or use the Platform. By registering, you confirm that you are at least 16 years old. If you are under 16, you may not use the Platform. These terms apply to all users, including visitors, registered members, sponsors, and event attendees.

When you create an account, you agree to: Provide accurate and complete information — Your name, email, and any other profile details must be truthful and up to date. You are responsible for updating your information if it changes. Maintain account security — You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. Do not share your password or access tokens with anyone. If you suspect unauthorized access, notify us immediately at privacy@aitcommunity.nl. One account per person — Each individual may maintain only one account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent bans, manipulate votes, or abuse platform features is prohibited and may result in permanent suspension. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, whether or not you authorized it.

The AIT community board, forums, and event spaces are shared resources. By participating, you agree to: Be respectful — Treat other members with courtesy and professionalism. Disagreements are fine; personal attacks, harassment, discrimination, and intimidation are not. No spam or self-promotion abuse — Do not post unsolicited advertisements, affiliate links, or repetitive promotional content. Sponsors may post job listings through the designated jobs feature. No illegal content — Do not post content that violates Dutch or EU law, including but not limited to: copyrighted material you don't have rights to, malware, personal data of others without consent, or content that incites violence or hatred. Language — Posts in both English and Dutch are welcome across the platform. Moderation — Our moderators have final say on content decisions. If your content is removed, you will be notified with a reason. Repeated violations may result in temporary or permanent suspension. Moderator decisions may be appealed by emailing privacy@aitcommunity.nl, but the final decision rests with the moderation team.

AIT Community Netherlands organizes workshops, hackathons, deep-dives, and meetups. The following terms apply to events: Registration — Events are registered through the Platform. Some events are free; others require payment. Your registration is confirmed only after successful payment (if applicable). Tickets are non-transferable — Tickets and registrations are tied to your account and may not be transferred or resold to another person. Refund Policy: — 7 or more days before the event: full refund. — 2 to 6 days before the event: 50% refund. — Less than 2 days before the event: no refund. Refunds are processed via the original payment method through Mollie. Cancellation and Rescheduling — AIT reserves the right to cancel or reschedule events due to unforeseen circumstances (venue issues, speaker cancellations, insufficient registrations, force majeure). In case of cancellation by AIT, registered attendees will receive a full refund. Conduct at Events — Attendees must adhere to the community guidelines at in-person and online events. AIT reserves the right to remove attendees who violate these guidelines without refund.

Organizations that sponsor AIT Community Netherlands through our sponsorship program agree to the following: Accurate Information — Sponsors are responsible for ensuring all company information, branding assets, and descriptions provided to AIT are accurate and not misleading. Job Listings — Jobs posted through the sponsor job board must represent genuine, currently open positions. Listings must include accurate details about the role, location, and compensation. Fake, misleading, or discriminatory job listings are prohibited. Removal Rights — AIT reserves the right to remove or modify any sponsor content, including job listings, that violates these terms, is misleading, or is otherwise inappropriate. We will notify the sponsor before or promptly after removal. Tier Benefits — Sponsorship benefits correspond to the tier selected at the time of purchase (Bronze, Silver, or Gold), as described on the sponsorship page. Benefits apply for the duration of the sponsorship agreement. AIT will make reasonable efforts to deliver all tier benefits as described.

Content Ownership — Users retain full ownership of content they create and post on the Platform, including community posts, ideas, articles, and profile information. License to AIT — By posting content on the Platform, you grant AIT Community Netherlands a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and promote your content within the context of the Platform and its associated channels (e.g. newsletter, social media). This license ends when you delete your content or account, except for anonymized community posts as described in our Privacy Policy. AIT Branding — The AIT Community Netherlands name, logo, and visual identity are our property. You may not use our branding without prior written permission, except sponsors may use branding as permitted under their sponsorship agreement. Open Source — Where AIT publishes code, templates, or tools under an open-source license, that code is governed by the terms of its respective license (e.g. MIT, Apache 2.0). These Terms of Service do not override open-source license terms.

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. AIT Community Netherlands does not warrant that: — The Platform will be available at all times or without interruption. — Content on the Platform is accurate, complete, or current. — The Platform is free from errors, vulnerabilities, or harmful components. To the maximum extent permitted by Dutch law, AIT Community Netherlands shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of the Platform. Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from or related to these terms or the Platform is limited to the total fees you have paid to AIT Community Netherlands in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim. If you have not paid any fees, our liability is limited to €50. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under Dutch law.

Account Deletion by You — You may delete your account at any time through your profile settings. Upon deletion, your personal data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy (account data removed within 30 days, community posts anonymized). Suspension or Termination by AIT — We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms of Service, the community guidelines, or applicable law. Where possible, we will provide notice and a reason. In cases of severe violations (e.g. harassment, illegal activity), suspension may be immediate. Effect of Termination — Upon termination, your right to access the Platform ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, liability, governing law) will continue to apply. Data After Termination — Your data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. See the Data Retention section of the Privacy Policy for details.

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these terms shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Amsterdam, the Netherlands. If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

AIT Community Netherlands reserves the right to update or modify these Terms of Service at any time. When we make material changes, we will notify you at least 30 days in advance via the email address associated with your account. We may also display a notice on the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of the updated terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree with the updated terms, you should stop using the Platform and delete your account before the changes take effect.
