Westmeath County Council granted Red Admiral DC Ltd (Lumcloon Energy Group) ten-year planning permission in early June 2026, subject to 32 conditions, for a six-unit data centre campus with a decentralised energy resource across roughly 600 acres of townlands near Rochfortbridge. Ten third-party appeals were lodged with An Coimisiun Pleanala (ref PL-501596-WH-26), with the last day for observations 27 July 2026; press reports put the campus at about EUR 1bn and cite an estimate of 493,000 tonnes of CO2 per year. IT capacity was not disclosed.
