Welcome to the first issue of Owner to Owner. This is a magazine for people who run their own small business and are tired of advice written for companies with an HR department. We start with the question owners ask most and answer worst: what should I charge? Most of us priced our first jobs by looking at what a competitor charged and knocking a bit off. Most of us regretted it. In this issue you'll find a simple way to work out a price you can defend, a quote you can copy, and a place to post your own job and get honest opinions from other owners. No gurus and no pitches. Just people who have been there. Pull up a chair.
