Kinect is a Y Combinator-backed AI startup building the future of e-commerce. We’re building AI-powered shopping experiences that change how consumers discover, interact with, and buy from brands online. We’re a small, fast-moving team with the opportunity to build a defining company at the intersection of AI and commerce. We’re looking for a Social Media & Content Creator Intern to help us build Kinect’s presence across social from the ground up. This isn’t a traditional social media internship where you’ll spend your time scheduling posts and updating content calendars. We want someone who is a creator first — someone who understands what makes people stop scrolling, is confident on camera, and can turn an idea into content people actually want to watch. What you’ll do Be one of the faces of Kinect across our social channels Create and appear in short-form videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels, LinkedIn and X Develop concepts, hooks and recurring content formats Film and edit social-first content Turn what’s happening inside Kinect into interesting, entertaining content Spot trends and move quickly when there’s an opportunity for Kinect to join the conversation Experiment constantly with new formats, ideas and creative styles Help us tell stories around AI, e-commerce, startups and the brands we work with Look at content performance and use what works to inform what we create next Work directly with the Kinect team to help shape our social voice and identity Who we’re looking for You don’t need years of professional social media experience. We’re much more interested in whether you understand the internet and know how to create. You might be a great fit if you: Are confident, natural and engaging on camera Have created TikToks, Reels, YouTube Shorts or other social-first content Understand hooks, pacing, storytelling and what keeps someone watching Have a strong instinct for what’s culturally relevant online Can take an idea from concept → filming → edit → post Aren’t afraid to test weird ideas and learn quickly Follow creators, brands and startups that are doing genuinely interesting things on social Are interested in AI, startups, e-commerce, brands or internet culture Want real ownership rather than a highly structured internship where you’re told exactly what to do Having your own social account or portfolio of content is a big plus, but audience size isn’t what we’re optimizing for. We’d rather see someone who clearly understands how to make great content. Why Kinect You’ll be joining a Y Combinator-backed startup at an early stage, which means you’ll get exposure and responsibility that would be difficult to get at a larger company. You’ll work directly with the team, have significant creative freedom, and play a real role in defining how Kinect shows up to the world. If you want to build a career in content, startups, growth or social media, you’ll leave this internship having actually built something — not just assisted someone else with it.
